~ Please be aware that the Isle of Wight and surrounding counties are being targeted in a large cold call PC fault finding telephone scam. PC users are being called by individuals claiming to be from 'Microsoft', 'Windows' or indeed a company called 'Support on Click'. They can also say they have been recommended by the user's Internet Service Provider (ISP).

The caller tries to scare the user into thinking they have a virus or some other computer issue. They will then try to gain remote access to the individual's PC and either install a virus onto the machine or say they have fixed an imaginary problem and then demand credit card details for payment of the computer repairs.

It is always best practice to not give any banking details out or allow an unknown company access to a PC from a cold call no matter what they say. ~
